A Pure Mind in an Impure World

Tuesdays, 7 - 9 pm

For most of us we are reminded of the problems in our world on a daily basis. As a result we may from time to time experience discouragement, indifference, cynicism, or a sense of hopelessness.  However, we need not experience any of this if we apply effort to change and improve our mind. If our mind becomes pure, in that it is free from negativity, the world we perceive will be pure. If our mind is controlled by negativity our world will be perceived as faulty and impure. This course will explore six essential positive minds and practices we can cultivate that help us develop a pure mind.

Modern Buddhism

Tuesdays, 7 - 9 pm

How can we make significant spiritual progress amidst hectic schedules and little time for meditation? Most people struggle to find a balance between worldly activities and spiritual ones. In fact we can integrate all of our worldly activities into the spiritual path and thereby make swift progress in developing the spiritual power to remain happy all of the time. This course will be based on the incredible new book by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso - Modern Buddhism - The Path of Compassion and Wisdom.
